GST & HST Changes To Be Aware Of
There are a lot changes coming to GST/HST. Of course, the big issue on everyone's mind is the transition to HST from GST effective the 1st of this coming July. But there are other changes that businesses and individuals should be aware of as well. Effective the 15th of December 2009, certain financial services that were previously considered GST exempt are now subject to GST, including credit checks, loan facilitation fees, investment advice and other financial services. Also, effective 1 July 2010, if your business does over $1.5 million in sales annually, then your business must file its GST/HST return electronically, otherwise it will not be considered to be filed on time.
